Enjoy a horseback ride on our wonderful arctic beach.

We start at the stable at Hov and ride at the oval track before we ride on the white sandy beach. The ride also goes through the amphitheater and what we believe was a place of sacrifice from the Viking age called “Hovet”. We pass remains of the boat houses for longships that the Vikings who once lived on Hov used in their voyages. After the beach we ride past our nordic style lodges and over a ridge and cliffs by the sea with a great open view towards the outside of Gimsøy. During the trip we ride past the traditional fish racks where the stockfish is made and through the lovely fishing harbour of Hovsund.

This tour does not require any riding experience and everyone is more than welcome to join the adventure!

We adapt the horses and pace to the riders’ qualifications, but this is not a tour for the more experienced riders who would like to tølt and canter (see Viking and half-day tours). The tour can be adapted to families and groups who want to do a nice activity together.
